Street Eater
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
Street Eater respects your privacy. This is the short, honest version.
What we collect
- Precise location, only while a run or ride is active. Used to track your route, distance, pace, and which streets you cover.
- Run history: distance, time, route polyline, calories, critter encounters, XP. Stored locally on your device only.
What we don't do
- We do not collect any personal information. There is no account, no email, no login.
- We do not share or sell your data to anyone.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Where data lives
All run data and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Nothing leaves your phone. Deleting the app deletes all of it permanently.
Map data
Map data is fetched from OpenStreetMap via the
Overpass API. We send only an approximate bounding box around your current area to download
street data — no identifying information is included. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
Permissions we request
- Location (When In Use / Always) — required to track your run. Background location
lets the run continue accurately when your phone is locked or in your pocket.
Children
Street Eater is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change what we collect, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date.
Material changes will also be called out in the app's release notes.
